1886
DEVOS MARRIES LEMMENS
Henri Devos starts, together with his wife, the production of pickles and gherkins in Antwerp. At the same time they also manage a butchery.

1906
SALE OF THE BUTCHERY
Because of the increasing success of their artisanal products, they sell the butchery and move the production of the spices to Hoboken. A little bit later they also start producing mustard.

1920
PRODUCTION OF MAYONNAISE
Devos Lemmens starts the production of mayonnaise which immediately covered a large part of the new factory. At that time they didn’t have any idea that this product would later become the flagship of their product range.

1936
FIFTY YEARS
Devos Lemmens celebrates its 50th anniversary by building a vinegar factory, in order to be able to produce on a large scale. In 1936, the product range consisted of pickles, capers and mayonnaise.

1959
NEW SITES
New sites are purchased, mainly for the storage of vegetables.

1965
LIMITED
COMPANY (LTD.)
Devos Lemmens becomes a Limited Company. The capital is set at 10,14 million Belgian francs, and the products are being sold in more than 70 countries.

1966
COMMERCIAL MERGER
Devos Lemmens merges with De Blauwe Hand. They move to Puurs, where they can dispose of a new industrial area at the price of 1,60 euros per square meter. Today, the offices and production site are still located here.

1968
MERGER WITH IMPERIAL
Devos Lemmens Ltd. merges with Imperial Product Ltd. Both family companies become a part of the holding Continental Foods,with a 50-50% ownership. The total turnover is 550 million Belgian francs.

1986
100 YEARS
Devos Lemmens celebrates its 100th anniversary.

1996
MAYOLIVE
Devos Lemmens launches “Mayolive”, the first mayonnaise with olive oil.

2001
LIGHT SAUCES
Devos Lemmens launches its “Light sauces”, which immediately became successful on the market of cold sauces.

2007
MAYONNAISE
AND SQUEEZE
Devos Lemmens launches mayonnaise in a new practical top down “squeeze” bottle.

2008
VINAIGRETTES & VEG’UP
Devos Lemmens starts producing and selling vinaigrettes and a ketchup Veg’Up.

2009
MINI-SQUEEZE
New format of the top down “squeeze” bottle, 300ml.

2011
125 YEARS
Devos Lemmens celebrates its 125th anniversary.

2012
WARM
SAUCES
Devos Lemmens develops a range of classic warm sauces. Today, Devos Lemmens produces mayonnaises, condiments, cold sauces, vinaigrettes, warm sauces and vegetable sauces.

2016
